So as most of you know ( well the 3 of you might actually still check this on a regular basis) Every year Mike and I go to Vegas in May for a pool tourney- now this year Mike is no longer playing with his regular team, and we were looking at the possiblity of not going to Vegas.....I KNOW!!

So the other day we found a good ticket price and booked flights, my 2 weeks of unaccountability is back on!

However the point of this particular blog is about the push i get in my workouts and efforts around this time of year, i fight to look good in a bikini, and start tanning to avoid umpth degree burns from the Vegas Heat. I have been running in the mornings with my friend Tara ( who is a savage by the way) in hopes of toning the winter flabbo muscle away...so I am feeling good about things, did a little pilates last night, ran again this morning- confident that in 59 days I will be looooookin' good in a bikini.....but wait.....what's this? .......*urp* i made the mistake of looking in the mirror at my naked white ass body at the tanning place if that doesn't burst a hole in the ole ego i am not sure what will...
Apparently I have more work to do than i thought......

Ok, so my blog has been dormant since the passing of my twenties but it's back.....cant promise that i will write lots but I have needed to get this off my chest FOREVER.

So here is what i dont understand, have never understood and will most likely never understand.....why women seem to have an issue in public washrooms with FLUSHING the toilet....now i realize that people dont act the same way in public as they do at home but JESUS what the F is wrong with you??? flush the toilet. Maybe it's just me but i even reach for the handle to flush the toilet in a fricken out house!! out of instinct....

Ok so the dreaded 30th Birthday has come and gone, alas i am still here....whew! that was a close one.

I have realized that it really is just a number, who cares really?
I am greatful to be able to look back and be able to say that in the last 10 years i have learned a lot:

i have learned that:

There are friends, and there are people you know.
Money means shit, if you have no personality.
That love, rather than hate is the strongest emotion.
That every moment IS important, you never know when you wont have it again.
That having 10 amazing friends is better than 100 you cant trust.
The words "i love you" should be cherished.
and much more....

As i turn 30 and embark on a new job, and a new outlook- i wish all the 29 and holding the best, break free, come to terms.....afterall 30 IS the new 20.

April 7th- The Hardest Day of My Life....Forever.

Tomorrow April 7, 2006- Marks the 2 year Anniversary of my Mom's passing....the worst of this day is over, and nothing will come close to the actual loss of her- but as the day approaches I cant help but feel pain and remember what that day was like all over again.

The last 2 years have been lonely, not having my mom here to share moments with the girls and of course me and Mike. I know that she is in a better, safer place than she was here- but that doesn't stop the feeling of pain and sorrow that those of us left behind without her feel, I think of her everyday, sometimes for a moment- a lot of times more. I know that I am not the only one who has lost a loved one, and I know I wont be the last......but in this case, I am the only me- who lost her.

I think back of the times I should have just listened instead of talking, I think of hugs that weren't given and moments that weren't shared and the regret of not telling her how much i loved her and how much she meant to me everyday.....and it hurts so much that I cant get those back. I want to express in words what she was to me, and will always be with all of my heart.....

She was thoughtful, selfless, caring, funny, giving, smart, compassionate, hard working, family orientated, accepting, forgiving, loving.........and much more....

The days we have left are unknown, the time shared is uncertain- life is too short to not tell someone how you feel, that you love them, are happy to see them or how much they mean to you- trust me on this- if you dont do it while you have them you will spend a lifetime wishing you had.......dont take it for granted that they "know" how you feel.....

Mom I love you, and miss you and would give everything i have to be able to talk to you again and tell you all the things i should have when i had the chance, you are greatly missed by everyone who knew you- and the world is not the same without you in it.

Ok now i am just putting this out there, and i am going strickly on what i have heard, i do not have founded evidence on some of it, so if you would like to comment and inform- please do so, i also value opinions - this is why I choose to blog......

I have always known that great minds think a like and as i planned this blog in my head, then checked my friends blog's i see that it is true.

I talked to Amy this morning about my discovery regarding the new Dixie Chicks song "Not Ready to Make Nice" much like her i thought it was about a jilted lover etc.....
As i listed further i realized that it wasn't about a Love at all, no it was about the man the Americans call a Leader "Mr. George W.Bush" comments were made by Dixie Chicks front woman Natalie Maines a few years back (2001 i believe) that stated and i am paraphrasing here "I am embarassed to be from the same state (Texas) as George Bush" and were instantly condemned by the American People and radio stations soon followed suit, they were slagged everywhere: radio, tv, magazines. They issued a public apology- but that was not enough.....

But like Amy i respect the fact they have NOT backed down on their position on George Bush and his eternal search for WMD'S and his stand on War in general.

Now here is where i get perplexed.

Kanye West can on National Television, during what i believe was a telethon for Katrina victims, say is no uncertain terms "GEORGE BUSH DOES NOT CARE ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE" and what do they do?? Well they promote his song Golddigger even more- Naturally.

THE LAS VEGAS COUNTDOWN BEGINS......

The yearly countdown begins.....
this will be my 4th year in a row, and i cant wait.....as usual.
I cannot believe that people actually can utter the words "I hate Vegas" whoarethesepeople?? how can you hate +40, endless things to do? free drinks, suntanning, live shows, free shows, shopping and no clocks.....i mean seriously?

I am betting the people that HATE it so much are the ones that lost a car or house payment and also HATE the sun.

We go for a pool tournament so in total we are there 2 weeks, love it....

Now i have had some feedback that there is too much American idol on my blog- well suck it up......

i will start off with our 24 addiction, it was a Friday 12 days ago when Mike and i were minding our own business when our "best friends" Amy and Chis came over with season 1 of 24.....we started watching it at about 11pm......as you may or may not know 24 is chopped up like this, Jack Bauer is a government agent working with CTU ( Counter Terrorist Unit) each season is based on a 24 hour span- ( yes smarty hence the name 24) so .....anyway episode 1- kinda catchy can see why people watch it, episode 2 you can actually feel the heroine shooting from your TV screen into your mind- you cant stop watching, it's always ONE MORE ....ONE MORE.....ONE MORE......AAAAAHHHHHH- needless to say it is a great show, and in 12 days we have polished off the whole first season ( yes 24 episodes) and half of the second ( mmm hmmm 12) so what i have to say to Jack Bauer and the crew is- i dont eat because of you, rarely bathe, and have now starting having dreams about Jack......
If you havent seen it , rent it, buy it- get involved- to be honest i cant see how someone could wait a whole week.......
DO NOT READ THE NOTES ON THE BACK OF THE BOX IF YOU BUY THEM - TRUST ME YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

ooooh and before i forget.....AMERICA IDOL AXE PICK.....

ok so, let me start off by saying "THANK JEBUS" Brenna Gethers is gone.

So this weeks Chops are a little harder to get ( yes i know i was WAY off with the guys last week, but pretty dead on with the girls....)

So Let's start with Kellie, i think it is unfortunate that she will probably be in this competition a lot longer than she should be- she is average at best, and her farm girl stupidity is painful.....this is another i wish, but am not betting on it....

Kinnik- be thankful that Heather Cox was a smidge shittier than you and that you got the chance to destroy one of the best songs ever this week- Beat it- please stop singing.......no i mean it, shut up.

Ayla - I actually really enjoyed you for the first couple weeks, you surprised me with picking hard songs - by powerful artists and making them enjoyable- this weeks performance showed a weakness, i dont think that means you are not talented, i think that you picked a horrible song, and the stronger singers were just a lot better than you this week....sorry!

Kevin- cute is over, it is no longer amusing- I am sure disney can use another voice over actor/singer...bye....ok the lisp is cute.

Will- i would have to say i would get rid of Bucky over you, but now that all the Ladies know he is an identical twin ( urrrp*) you MAY just be in trouble.....he has Arkansas Vote for sure.....

I think that Ace will go far in this competition mainly because of his looks ( i think Chris Daughtry is hotter), i think that the George Michael song was a great song for his voice - but i dont think that he is an exceptional performer at this point......i am keeping in mind that there has only been one night of performances so i will keep my opinions posted ( ya i know that's a shocker)

Thankfully for Ace his fate is being left in the hands of the American Voters, who seem to value good looks over talent or knowledge....

Let's start with:
Bobby- I am not sure about any of you but i am not shocked. Bobby is the guy you want to have a beer bong with and invite to your Karaoke birthday party- sorry dog- wasn't feeling it!

Patrick- I am not sure that pounding out a Melissa Etheridge song on opening night is a choice i would have made as a man- but cudos for getting up there, i think that Patrick was lucky to have made the top 12 in the first place and will now be invited to be the leader of a youth choir- good on ya Patty!

Becky- let's face it she is hot, AND HAS AN IDENTICAL TWIN SISTER!! if Maxim or Stuff doesn't call Becky i would be shocked!! Maybe even Hef!

Stevie- this one i have trouble with - she is the only one of these 4 i feel is really talented, and it is a shame that she picked a crappy song- in my opinion- Stevie is not out of the music business for long.

So here i find myself in a catch 22....

i don't want to be loved and spoiled just because it is Valentine's Day and a holiday tells my boyfriend he should, but yet i do want to know that i am loved and face it i am still holding out for the rock.....

I want to devote this blog to teaching men and women to spoil your significant other on a nothing day....an unbirthday of sorts. I think the biggest problem in relationships ( besides the obvious of cheating and money trouble) is that we take each other for granted - we dont stop to think how much that person means to us, and that we should show them any chance we get....it is love apathy if you will.
Why shouldn't we tell our companion as many times as we like that we love them, or that they have nice eyes or they smell great? you think that they should just know.....well i think that is shit.....no one ever has said ( with the exception of those who have had an obessed ex- or a stalker) you know we broke up because he showed me love and told me lots- NEVER.

so to those of you who have a love of your life- show it.
to those who dont- it will come to you when you are not looking....

BOSTON TERRIER VS. PUG.....ROUND ONE

Now it could be that because i am a proud owner of a "Boston Terrier" that being asked every time someone approaches my dog "is that a PUG?" annoys the crap out of me.....or it could be the utter ignorance of everyone that walks by thinking they are so smart naming the breed before i do, guess what DUMMIES, a boston terrier is black and white ( sometimes red and white ) they are not a light tan color, second the body and bone structure is totally different- pug's look like someone kicked them in the ass and it stayed.....they look NOTHING ALIKE.....what the eyes? Jesus!
what i am saying is, i dont expect everyone on the street to know what kind of dog i have- but if you DONT know, dont guess for the love of god, just ask "what kind of dog is that" and i will kindly respond " She's a boston terrier" to which then they would respond with " a boston boxer?" NO A BOSTON TERRIER...... ah F%#$ it, yes she is a Pug.

Lipo Schmipo

Although there was a time I really truly wanted to get Liposuction i realized yesterday that Lipo can kiss my ass- so can the doctor that offended me with failing attempts to make me question my self image more than i already do and convince me take the plunge under the canula.

So over the last 2 years, I gained 40 pounds partially due to the "Depo" birth control shot, and partially because i started a "desk job"- then wallowed in my own self pitty, So joined weight watchers, lost 28 pounds, and am on the home stretch....so this is where i get a little angry....

Yesterday i went to the dermatologist to talk about my skin issues and to answer my nagging questions about Lipo, so he addressed my skin issue by telling me that he could fix it for a small fee of $1800+gst, and that my face would look like i had the shit kicked out of me for about a month- really realistic.....
So then to quell my nagging thoughts, and Christmas and Birthday wishlist item- we addressed Liposuction- i guess you could say that i put myself to the mercy of the "beauty" doctor so it serves me right, however maybe they should add a TACT class to the course requirements of Dermatology- he asked me to life my shirt to see my stomach ( the only real area i would want done).....and he says to me, well if we took some out here (big tug at tummy) and then more off of here ( two fisted tug at hips)...THEN he says you would look good.....***gasp*** was he serious? did he actually just say that with a HUGE emphasis on THEN? so i responded with " i am going to try to get down as much as i can on my own and then if i am unhappy then i would consider it" i mean after all it WAS a consultation, he reponds once again with a sigh " you aren't going to get ANY smaller than you are now"

I could not believe in the 2 minutes he was in there, he had made about $5000, and managed to shoot down my hopes of having soft beautiful skin- and made a point of telling me how i would look SO MUCH BETTER without my hips and walked out of the room to let his Roadie take over.....

So Thanks Dr......thanks to you the motivation i had been lacking due to the plateau of weight loss has suddenly re-appeared. Cant get smaller than i am now? WTF i was smaller than i am now, and thanks to your lame ass attempts for me to spend $7000 to make myself look so much better- F%$# IT, and F%$# YOU- i am going to do it the old fashion way- sweat,and hard work- then i think i will look much better but not thanks to you or my $7000.

So i am spending a sick day at home, lucky me you say? No.....not in this case. I have an eye infection- i have been getting them since i was a kid, they are not "catchy" or "pink eye" as everyone seems to diagnose them to be....

I have a disease called Viral Conjunctivitis, it is a disease of the eye- it is something that remains dormant most of the time, but when it flares up ( as far as i can tell it is brought out by stress or being overtired much as a cold sore) it is one of the most painful things i have ever, and continue to experience. It starts with an itch, then my eye becomes sticky, then really sore, then it feels like Rotten Johnny threw sand in it, and with every blink or turn of the eye, it scrapes.....and then my personal favorite i wake up with it glued shut- which is when i nicely ask Mike to get me a warm cloth so that i can moisten ( barf) my crusted eye, and once again allow it to open. It is not fun and i truly would not wish it on anyone.....this is not a "fun" sick day.....my highlight has been being able to watch Ellen.....Oh and i forgot my eye is blood red the whole time, and swollen- kinda hard to mask with makeup- really what i'm saying is it makes me miserable.....grrrrr.

Just wanted to share a little piece of Bree on this fine Humpday, and looking at myself in the mirror with my puffy, red, oooozing eye- it probably wont be Humpday for me, so good luck to you all....

So watching the oilers drift into the end of the third period - that i had missed most of because i was taking the girls home- once again trailing by one goal we thought for sure once more the Oilers- the team that kills you but you cant stop loving them- were going to lose it in the final minutes.....but wait...2.2 seconds left, goalie pulled, the face off the tip back- AND PRONGER SCORES WITH 0.2 SECONDS LEFT ON THE CLOCK.....yes we sigh- this is why we cheer for the oilers....overtime it is, and then shootout- which brings me to the point of this post- I have only been to one game this season but it was against our Arch Rivals the Calgary Flames in which there was also a shootout, NOT ONCE- did anyone boo the Calgary Player when he was going in for his attempt- NOT ONCE- that being said we cheered when they were unsuccessful- but by no means was anyone ignorant, I think that Phoenix Fans Booing is classless and rude- it is on par with the odd person who boos the American Anthem when they play here:

Respect the game
and for god sakes until you are on the ice skating in for your shootout chance sit down and shut up!

The year of 30.....

This might be the toughest year to be Bree yet......the dreadful 30th birthday approaches quicker than i think, Normally i am inclined to countdown- but Alas this year i am afraid.....
What is it that is so scary about 30? Is it that the 20's are gone and 40 approaches? is it that i should now have more than i do?

Of course i will leave it in the hands of fate to decide what 30 has in store for me, or as Drew Barrymore coined in "Fever Pitch" 20-10.....
